On behalf of the Committee and the Senior Rugby section coaching group, I wanted to thank you for your continued commitment to the club during a challenging year for all of us. It’s been heartening to see so many faces, both old and new, down at the club on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and we’ve seen good progress at training over the last couple of months both in skills and fitness, and had an excellent fixture vs Belsize park recently with over 20 players involved, full contact rugby on show, and a big win for OAs.
We are now having a full 5-week break from organised training at OAs. This is intended to give you time to enjoy yourselves and come back raring to go for pre-season training, as we look ahead to a return to competitive league seasons. Please find below full details of how we are approaching this, as well as many social opportunities at the club over the summer months including watching the Lions, and the Alleynians Arms events where different teams within the club take turns in running the bar and competing to raise the most funds.

OFF SEASON
As of now, there is no training on Wednesday evenings until pre-season commences (see below).
On Saturdays, we will continue to offer Strength & Conditioning sessions for the senior rugby section at 09:30 – 10:30, which is followed by O2 Touch rugby on the pitches 10:30 – 12:00. Much like during lockdown, the club's pitches are also available to you for fitness purposes.
We encourage you to keep up with your fitness to ensure a strong return to rugby. So get in the gym, out for a run, or whatever works for you.
PRE-SEASON TRAINING
Pre-season training will commence on Monday 12th July and on Wednesday 14th July, we encourage you to come down to the clubhouse to watch the Lions vs South Africa A at 7pm and have a few beers with your squad mates.
Following that, we will operate on a Monday and Wednesday weekly cadence.
PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES
Currently we have the traditional five team's vs Belsize fixture secured for late August in Dulwich. We also have an away fixture vs Richmond 3s secured for early September. The coaching group is also exploring other options for pre-season friendlies to ensure we are raring to go for the start of the season in September.
SEASON 21/22
We are awaiting confirmation from the RFU of the season commencement dates for our various leagues. But based on dates shared already for some leagues, we anticipate season 21/22 fixtures will commence the second week of September.
