Give it a try! is Old Alleynians’ Schools Community Outreach Programme supporting inclusion, by engaging with local state primary and secondary schools to introduce rugby as both a core PE curriculum offer as well as delivering enrichment programmes through after school clubs, taster sessions and rugby festivals. We also support teachers to help develop them as confident rugby coaches, offering England Rugby courses at the club and where appropriate delivering sessions with teachers to support their learning.
Currently we are active in the following schools:
The Club is looking to expand the programme annually to ensure that not only do we engage more children and schools with the game we also reflect one of the critical England Rugby objectives, "To Grow The Game”In addition to the schools above we are also actively engaging with a variety of other schools locally offering teacher support as well as "taster" sessions to develop an interest in the game.

Our Rugby for all! Awards Programme is now active. It has been set up to support disadvantaged young people, allowing them to play rugby at Old Alleynians in spite of any financial constraints experienced by their families. It is a simple programme to apply for. If you need support from the club via Rugby for all! please, in the first instance, contact your Age Group Head Coach.
If you are keen to support this worthwhile programme that will keep more young people in the game then please click on the gofundme logo to be taken to the donation page. Please support our programme? Our objective is to broaden the reach of the game, increase Age Grade playing numbers and ensure that no young person is excluded from rugby at Old Alleynians. |
