The finalists for the Crabbie’s National Rugby Awards 2018 were announced and included a nice surprise for one of our star performers
The OAs 17/18 player of the season, Andy Conway, in his first year in the black and blue, has been recognised at the national level as one of just 6 nominees for Men’s Player of the Year (Amateur).
This is one of 12 categories to be decided at an award’s ceremony to be held at Twickenham Stadium on 29th August which will celebrate the very best in rugby from grassroots level to professional.
Andy had a prolific season for the club at outside centre, scoring 9 tries and a number of try assists, as well as being strong in defence in the wide channels with his tackling and tackle contest.
We’re very proud to have one of our own recognised in such exalted company and whilst it’s a well-deserved recognition of Andy’s contribution to the side, it’s also testament to the hard work being put in both on and off the field across the organisation.
