Game of the Month Initiative

Over recent months the Under 9's have started a new initiate to support the development of their players.

‘Game of the Month’ offers the Under 9 players the opportunity to watch live rugby surrounded by coaches and other rugby supporters watching the game unfold in front of them, discussing what’s happening and answering questions the players may have whilst they enjoy watching the game with their team mates. It’s also a great opportunity for the players to foster local role models. They have been excited to run on field with the kicking tee and meet the players after the match.

Each Game of the Month is arranged to watch an Old Alleynian team at home and players and parents can turn up to watch for as much time as they would like and for free; supporting Rugby For All. With refreshments available at the bar it makes for a really enjoyable way for players to watch the game from the touch line.

The next Game of the Month is the 1st XV vs Charlton Park on the 4th December 2021 with kick off at 14.30pm. This coincides with the Past Players Lunch as well so should make for a wonderful day of rugby.

This initiative started a couple of months ago and the under 9’s have watched two great wins from the 1st XV who are playing some awesome rugby! Over the next few weeks we intend to identify the Games of the Month for the rest of the season with the intention to provide players the opportunity to watch the range of different Old Alleynian teams.

We do hope players will take advantage of this initiative to support them in the development of their game.
