Folkestone RFC

15 - 50

(HT 10-33)

Old Alleynians RFC

The 1st XV continued their unbeaten run to 10 games in league competitions with a victory against newly promoted Folkestone. OAs were under pressure early in the first half having given away several penalties and missed kicks to touch to relieve pressure. Growing into the game OAs opened scoring through a try from Ian Brooks, this was followed by more pressure and knock on over the line denying OAs a second score. OAs struggled to press home any advantage as they gave repeated penalties away in midfield until a score from Matt Owens on his league debut on 22 mins.

From here an OAs side, with 7 players making their league debuts for the club, started to gel finishing the first half with tries through Dewing and Thompson. Dewing accurate from the tee contributing the extras.

OAs ill-discipline in the second half saw Gil Crouch get carded for repeat infringements, however OAs were dominant adding tries through Tom Smith, Tommy Williams and Demi Kuteyi to cap off a fine opening to the campaign.

Tries - Brooks, Owens, Adetosoye, Dewing, Thompson, Smith, Williams, Kuteyi

Cons - Dewing x 5

Yellow card - Crouch (repeat team pens)
